West Boynton Little League Blue CrewWhat is the WBLL Blue Crew?!?It is the group of volunteer umpires that donate their time to umpiring the youth of West Boynton Little League. It is approximately 30 members strong and growing. It is a group of highly-trained umpires under the direction of Michael Staie, Umpire-In-Chief. It has a Junior Umpire Program that is second to none. WBLL Blue Crew Junior Umpires range from 11 to 16. They earn Bright Future and community service hours. They proudly wear the red T-Shirt with the WBLL Umpire emblem. The Blue Crew hosts umpire training clinics at various times throughout the year. They train their volunteers to be the best.
The Blue Crew has the knowledge of the rules of Little League and the strong backing of an excellent board of directors. Among the Blue Crew are members that have traveled to offer LL umpire services to District, Sectional and State competitions. We also have members with Regional recommendations. They are a proud group. They are a sharp-looking group. They are here to support Little League and Fair Play. Please check out the umpire section of Little Leagues website at www.littleleague.org for information on registering to be an official Little league umpire.

Little League® does not recommend any particular color shirt as its official umpiring shirt. However, the shirt chosen by each league, district, etc. should be uniform in make/style and color for all umpires. WBLL will utilizeDark Blue with Red and White trim for Night games and Light Blue with Blue and White trim for day games. There are many places on-line where shirts can be purchased. Honigs below has a distribution center in Fort Lauderdale if you don’t want to wait for or pay for shipping.
A comfortable undergarment should be worn beneath the shirt to absorb perspiration.
The correct colored undershirt should be worn as well. Red under shirt for the dark Blue shirt and dark Blue under shirt for the light Blue shirt.
Shirts should be clean and neatly pressed. The appropriate Little League® Umpire patch should be affixed to the left sleeve.
Plate shirts should normally be one size larger than the base shirt to allow a comfortable fit over the inside chest protector.
Little League® recommends that umpire’s wear gray pants. There are many styles and shades of gray pants, WBLL will be utilizing Heather Gray pants. They can be found at the same websites listed above for shirts. Pants should be clean and neatly pressed.
